The Brock Badgers women’s rugby team has made headlines as they enter the U SPORTS Top 10, securing the No. 9 spot. This marks their first ranking of the season, previously standing unranked.
The Badgers hold a record of 2 wins and 2 losses, with their highest ranking being 9 as of September 28, 2023.
Victory Over Waterloo Warriors
In their latest match held at Alumni Field, the Badgers delivered an impressive performance against the Waterloo Warriors, winning with a remarkable score of 63-3. This match, themed “Wigs Gone Wild,” showcased the team’s offensive prowess, with nine players scoring tries.
A standout player in this impressive win was Charli Burgoyne, who scored three tries during the match at the 3rd, 68th, and 77th minutes. Alongside her efforts, Marisa Freeman also gained recognition for her strong physical play, earning her the title of Athlete of the Week.
