Seahawks Strengthen Roster with Key Signings Before Week 4
Roster Changes Ahead of Chargers Matchup
The Seattle Seahawks have made strategic roster moves in preparation for their Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Notably, they have signed running back Velus Jones Jr. from their practice squad, enhancing their backfield options.
To accommodate the addition of Jones, the Seahawks placed running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve. This decision comes after Price was ruled out for the upcoming game due to a chest injury he sustained in the previous week’s victory against the Arizona Cardinals.
Injury Update on Jadarian Price
Price, who was a first-round draft pick from Notre Dame, will now be sidelined for at least four games following the designation to injured reserve. He was initially able to play in last week’s game but aggravated his injury during practice on Wednesday, as confirmed by head coach Mike Macdonald.
Additional Elevations from Practice Squad
In addition to signing Jones, the Seahawks have elevated several players from their practice squad for Sunday’s matchup. This includes cornerback Trevon Diggs and safety Maxen Hook. This marks the second consecutive elevation for Hook, who made his NFL debut last week.
Trevon Diggs, a seasoned cornerback who joined the Seahawks earlier this season, will also have his first opportunity to compete in a regular season game for Seattle, pending his playing time. Diggs boasts a successful career, including a first-round All-Pro accolade in 2021 and two Pro Bowl selections, having started 64 of his 67 career games. He had previously showcased his skills during the preseason, where he recorded an interception in the third game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
