BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The commercial real estate sector is set to gain new momentum as a global assembly of women leaders gathers in Miami. This week, they welcome their new president, Marsha Womack, a seasoned banker from Birmingham and a vice president at Hope Credit Union.

About CREW Network

The CREW Network, which stands for Commercial Real Estate Women, has an impressive reach, boasting over 14,000 members across 85 chapters in nine countries. Although the organization welcomes men, its primary mission is to enhance the role of women in various dimensions of commercial real estate, including financing and capital raising.

“We have more than 85 chapters across nine countries, 14,000 members,” Womack stated. “Being a part of my local chapter, Birmingham CREW, connects me to the broader CREW Network, allowing for valuable knowledge exchange.”

Under Womack’s leadership, CREW Network aims to continue its strategic initiatives focused on education and leadership development for women in commercial real estate. Her journey in the organization began as a commercial lender, and she expressed appreciation for the diverse aspects of the industry she has discovered through her involvement.

“What I learned with CREW Network is that there are so many different facets there that I didn’t know about,” Womack reflected. “The connectivity of having women who are just like me—trying to be successful in our craft and finding a safe space to learn—has been very intriguing.”
