GTA 6: Limited Florida Attractions Confirmed
During a recent feature with Game Informer, Rockstar Games has indicated that the highly anticipated GTA 6 might not include several iconic Florida attractions, such as Disney World and SeaWorld, in its fictional setting known as Leonida.
Rockstar’s Vision for Florida in GTA 6
In answering questions from Game Informer, Paul MacPherson, the senior vice president of environment art at Rockstar, explained the studio’s selective approach to including landmarks and attractions. Although fans might hope for the direct representation of major Florida destinations, MacPherson clarified that the game’s design and narrative considerations will ultimately guide these choices.
“We have to constantly evaluate the diversity of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations and everything else before we work with design and narrative to distill a list down that best works with and serves the game’s needs,” said MacPherson. “So, while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience!”
The remarks suggest that, while GTA 6 aims to embody the essence of Florida, players should not expect every well-known attraction to be part of the game.
Exploration Beyond Theme Parks
In previous installments, such as GTA 5, players could visit attractions like the Venice Beach Boardwalk. However, feedback indicated that such experiences were not deeply immersive. Consequently, Rockstar appears to be focusing on a more diverse array of unique environments rather than replicating entire theme parks.
Inclusion of Wildlife
Interestingly, while theme parks may be sparse, GTA 6 will feature a zoo filled with various animals. The game is expected to include over 170 species, including rare and legendary breeds that players can interact with. This focus on wildlife adds a new dimension to exploration, compensating for the absence of traditional amusement attractions.
Research and Authenticity
To ensure accuracy in depicting the Florida experience, Rockstar conducted extensive research by immersing themselves in the local culture. This included visits to nightlife venues such as strip clubs and nightclubs, reinforcing the studio’s commitment to authenticity in their game design.
As anticipation builds for the release of GTA 6, it remains clear that while players may miss some classic floridian attractions, the game promises to deliver a uniquely tailored exploration experience filled with diverse landscapes and engaging wildlife.
