Cryptocurrency Market Update: Bitcoin and Ether Trends
Current Market Overview
On Tuesday, Bitcoin experienced a modest increase of 1%, rising to a value of approximately $84,200. This uptick came as buyers emerged during dips around the $82,500 mark. The cryptocurrency’s movement coincides with the 10-year Treasury yield holding steady near 5.25%, following a significant rise to its highest point since 2007.
Major Players: Ether, DOGE, and XRP
Ether led the way among major cryptocurrencies, climbing by 2% and nearing a price level of $2,720. Other notable gainers included:
- DOGE: +3%
- XRP: +2%
- BNB, SOL, and TRX: each gained under 1%
In contrast, HYPE saw a decline of 1%, while ZEC emerged as the notable outlier, plummeting by 9% to around $1,423.
Investor Inflows and Trends
U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded inflows of approximately $31 million on Monday, with ether funds attracting about $17 million. Funds for SOL and XRP collectively added another $17 million. However, the only U.S. ZEC fund reported an outflow, losing approximately $8 million.
Market Analysis and Outlook
According to Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, the current cryptocurrency market capitalization stands at $2.87 trillion, indicating a slow rebound from last week’s lows near $2.83 trillion. He cautions that the market remains in a short-term downtrend as it has not surpassed the $2.90 trillion mark. In his analysis, he states:
“The short-term working scenario is that BTC has found support on a pullback to previous highs, having cooled off sufficiently following the growth momentum. A sustained bullish sentiment paves the way for new multi-month highs above $87K.”
The ongoing strength of the U.S. dollar and prevailing uncertainties in the equity markets contribute to current market unease.
