2024-25 Team Academic All-GLVC Awards Announced
On Monday, the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) celebrated the academic achievements of its student-athletes by announcing that 189 teams have received the prestigious Team Academic All-GLVC award. This recognition is awarded to teams from both full-time and associate member institutions that have achieved an impressive average GPA of 3.30 or higher during the last academic year.
A Strong Performer: UIndy Leads the Pack
Among the recognized institutions, the University of Indianapolis (UIndy) stood out with a total of 17 teams meeting the 3.30 GPA benchmark. Notable performances included:
- Women’s Cross Country: 3.74
- Men’s Golf: 3.72
- Women’s Soccer: 3.64
- Women’s Tennis: 3.64
- Softball: 3.61
- Men’s Soccer: 3.48
UIndy’s achievement is closely followed by Maryville University, which also had 17 teams earning this distinction, showcasing the academic prowess across the conference.
Comparison with Previous Years
This year’s total of 189 recognized teams reflects a slight increase from last year’s 182 teams, reinforcing a positive trend in academic performance within the GLVC, though it remains shy of the record 207 teams from the 2019-20 academic year.
Impressive Results Across Sports
The diversity of achievement across men’s and women’s sports is notable, with 101 honors awarded to women’s programs and 88 to men’s. Key highlights included:
- Every team in women’s swimming & diving (10 teams) surpassed the 3.30 mark.
- Men’s soccer saw 14 out of 15 teams reach this academic standard.
- Softball programs had a strong showing, with 14 out of 15 teams recognized.
Trends in Academic Excellence
The GLVC continues to make strides in academic excellence, with 14 member institutions reporting 10 or more teams achieving the 3.30 GPA standard, surpassing the previous record of 13 from the 2019-20 academic year. Rockhurst led the way with 18 teams earning the distinction, marking a significant commitment to academics among its athletics programs.

As part of the ongoing GLVC Academic Awards week, the conference will also honor individual student-athletes who have maintained a GPA of 3.30 or higher throughout the academic year.
