Investigation into Pamela Ling Yueh’s Disappearance
MACC’s Request and Subsequent Developments
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has stated that it requested Pamela Ling Yueh, a woman reported missing, to visit their headquarters on April 9. The invitation was made to assist in an ongoing investigation under both the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.
Ling, however, did not appear for the meeting and has not been reachable since that date, according to statements released by the agency.
Police Involvement
A police report regarding Ling’s disappearance was filed by her lawyer on the same day she was scheduled to meet with the MACC. Following this report, the investigation into her whereabouts has been transferred to the local police.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed that investigators have since interviewed 12 witnesses, including family members, MACC officers, and Ling’s legal counsel.
At this stage, he indicated that there have been no significant leads or updates concerning Ling’s location.
Public Advisory
The MACC has urged the public to refrain from speculation and to avoid spreading unverified information regarding the situation. They have emphasized the importance of allowing law enforcement to carry out their investigation without interference.
Current Status
As of now, the inquiry continues with no developments surrounding Pamela Ling Yueh’s fate. The police remain focused on gathering further evidence and information to assist in resolving this case.
