Rowan Volleyball Sweeps Ramapo; Kaul Hits 1,000 Career Kills
GLASSBORO, NJ – In a triumphant match on Thursday evening, the Rowan University volleyball team delivered a powerful performance against Ramapo, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-13. This victory featured a standout moment as senior Jena Kaul achieved a significant milestone, surpassing the 1,000 career kill mark.
Noteworthy Achievements
Kaul became only the fourth player in the history of the Rowan volleyball program to reach this milestone. The accomplished player entered the match needing just four kills, achieving her milestone early in the second set.
Match Breakdown
Set One
The first set was a competitive affair, characterized by numerous ties and lead changes, totaling 11 ties and five shifts in lead. The Profs broke a tie at 23-23 through two back-to-back kills from Kaul and teammate Ava Best, giving Rowan a narrow 1-0 lead.
Set Two
The momentum continued into the second set, as Jessica Smart contributed three critical kills during a 4-0 run, propelling the Profs to an 18-13 lead. They maintained control to secure a two-set advantage.
Set Three
Rowan dominated the third set, starting with a 6-0 lead. Despite a brief response from Ramapo, the Profs executed a formidable 9-point run, solidifying their victory. Kaul capped off the set and the match with a final kill, concluding the evening’s success.
