RLD Leader Encourages Youth and Women to Engage in Politics
Kapilavai Dilip Kumar, the Telangana President of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and former Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), has made a compelling call for increased political participation among youth and women. His remarks came during the RLD’s Social Awareness Rath Yatra, which recently reached the districts of Nizamabad and Jagtial.
Concerns Over Political Betrayal
During a media interaction, Dilip Kumar critiqued both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Congress parties, accusing them of failing the aspirations of Telangana’s citizens. He noted that many youths who participated in the Telangana movement did so with hopes for enhanced employment and livelihood opportunities, which he claims have been unfulfilled post-statehood.
“Only geographical Telangana has been achieved, not social Telangana,” he stated, emphasizing the need for a more equitable societal structure.
Highlighting Key Issues
Dilip Kumar expressed deep concern regarding the deterioration of essential sectors such as education, healthcare, and employment. He pointed out that over 200,000 government positions remain unfilled, with approximately 2.8 million young people still waiting for skill-training initiatives.
Unity for Empowerment
He stressed the importance of solidarity among Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Backward Classes (BC) to facilitate political empowerment and indicated that RLD is actively working toward this objective. In line with this ambition, the party plans to organize job fairs across all districts and maintain a focus on increasing youth representation in upcoming local body elections.
Demands for Policy Reforms
Addressing several pressing issues, Kumar criticized the misallocation of pension benefits and insisted on implementing a 42% reservation for BC communities ahead of local body elections. He further accused the Congress government of neglecting promised support initiatives such as financial aid for women and farmers, as well as employment schemes that were meant to uplift the community.
- Called for immediate implementation of Rajiv Yuva Vikas loans.
- Proposed the establishment of a special fund for unemployed individuals.
- Advocated for legislation ensuring that 95% of private-sector jobs are reserved for local candidates.
Call for Election Security
In the context of upcoming elections, Kumar has urged for the deployment of Central forces to ensure security and transparency in the electoral process, thereby reinforcing the integrity of democracy in the region.
