The 24th annual You Are Loved Women’s Conference is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will take place at New Life Christian Fellowship, located at 317 S. Ripley Blvd, Alpena.

This year’s guest speaker, Jaime Hlavin, will present on the theme “Everyday Faith.” Women and young women from the area are encouraged to join this day dedicated to spiritual upliftment, excitement, and community bonding.

About Jaime Hlavin

Jaime brings over 20 years of pastoral experience, primarily in the eastern Metro Detroit area, where she served alongside her husband, Aaron. They currently lead in the Assemblies of God Michigan Ministry Network, where Aaron holds the position of superintendent.

Her involvement in various ministries—including youth, young adult, and women’s ministries—demonstrates her commitment to service. Recently, she and her husband took on the role of lead pastors.

Apart from church leadership, Jaime also worked in a nonprofit organization focused on addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of families in an urban community, a role she describes as transformative.

Personal Life

Jaime and Aaron are parents to two daughters, aged 20 and 17, who help keep their parents aware of current fashion trends, albeit with mixed success. Jaime, identifying as an introvert, finds solace in activities such as reading, spending time with their Goldendoodles, and enjoying copious amounts of black coffee.

Supporting a Noble Cause

The conference will also feature WOVEN (Women of Victory Experiencing Newness), which will host a WAR Boutique. This boutique offers jewelry, bags, and accessories handmade by women who have escaped human trafficking. Proceeds directly support women in safehouses, helping them to embark on new beginnings. Registration Information

The cost to register is $25, which includes a luncheon and dessert buffet. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance through newlifealpena.org or by texting “SPRING2025” to 989-282-3456. Checks should be made out to New Life and can be mailed or dropped off at the church office. A limited number of same-day registrations will also be accepted, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17.
