UNC Asheville’s Brookbank Named Big South Freshman of the Week
Charlotte, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced on October 20 that Addie Brookbank, a freshman outside hitter from UNC Asheville, has been recognized as the Freshman of the Week. This accolade highlights her impactful performance during the recent matches.
Brookbank showcased her skills by contributing significantly to her team’s offensive efforts over the weekend. She recorded a total of 27 kills, averaging 3.86 kills per set, along with a hitting percentage of .254 across two matches.
In her opening match against High Point, Brookbank delivered a remarkable performance, achieving her third double-double of the season with 14 kills and 19 digs. She followed this with another solid outing against Radford, where she notched 13 kills and made a notable impact with four service aces, including the crucial service ace that clinched the second set for her team.
This recognition marks Brookbank’s first weekly honor from the Big South Conference.
Looking ahead, Brookbank and her teammates will head out on a two-match road trip this upcoming weekend, set to face Presbyterian on Friday at 6 PM and Charleston Southern on Saturday at 6 PM.
