WVU Women’s Soccer Team Achieves Third Consecutive Win Against Army
The West Virginia University (WVU) women’s soccer team continued their impressive performance by shutting out Army with a score of 3-0 at Dick Dlesk Stadium on Saturday night.

After a goalless first half, the Mountaineers broke through in the 54th minute when Maddie Levy capitalized on a pass from teammate Taylor White. This crucial goal changed the momentum of the match.
White further extended the lead in the 72nd minute, scoring her fourth goal of the season and marking the 20th goal of her career, thanks to an assist from Anna Hauer. The final goal came in the 83rd minute when freshman Kailyn Effah scored her first collegiate goal by seizing a rebound.

Throughout the match, WVU outshot Army 18 to 3, demonstrating their offensive strength. Army’s goalkeeper, Karalyn Dail, was faced with a total of six shots on goal, making notable saves to keep her team in the game. On the Mountaineers’ side, White led with four shots, followed by Levy, Olivia Shertzer, and Hauer, each contributing two shots.

WVU goalkeeper Bailey Herfurth achieved her third consecutive shutout of the season, not facing any shots on target during the match. This was part of an impressive defensive record, with the Mountaineers managing to hold opponents scoreless in four of their first six games this season.
