2025 University of Lynchburg Women’s Volleyball Schedule Announced
The University of Lynchburg women’s volleyball team has officially revealed its schedule for the 2025 season. After a strong performance last year, finishing in the top four of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and securing their first playoff victory since 2017, the Hornets are eager to build on their successful 19-win season. The team returns nearly all its players from the previous year, adding five new athletes from the transfer portal.
Season Kickoff and Early Matches
The Hornets will start the season with a round-robin tournament, facing Washington College (Md.) and William Paterson in Wayne, New Jersey, on August 29. This will be followed by matches against Mount Aloysius and Kean in Union, New Jersey.
On September 2, Lynchburg will host its home opener against the Southern Virginia Knights in the Hill City.
Challenging Road Competitions
Returning to the road, the Hornets will participate in the Ford Invite in Haverford, Pennsylvania, from September 5-6. Here, they will compete against Scranton, Haverford, and Springfield, all of which ranked in the top 100 last season’s NCAA Performance Index.
Home Tournament and Key Matches
Afterward, Lynchburg will host the Hill City Classic in Turner Gymnasium on September 12, featuring matches against Columbia College and Hood College. Following this event, the team will travel to Bridgewater, Virginia, for two matches against Pfeiffer and Greensboro.
Conference Play Begins
The Hornets will initiate their conference schedule with a match against Randolph on September 17. Additional home games include matchups with Bridgewater on September 19 and Washington & Lee on September 20.
Extensive Away Match Streak
After the initial home games, Lynchburg will go on to play three consecutive matches away, starting with Catholic in Washington, D.C., on September 26. They will then face Pitt Bradford at Randolph College on September 27, concluding this segment with a match against Virginia Wesleyan in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on October 1.
Returning to Turner Gymnasium
The team returns to their home court for three matches, taking on Shenandoah (October 4), Guilford (October 8), and Averett (October 15).
Final Stretch of the Season
Seven of Lynchburg’s last eight matches will be on the road, starting with games against Roanoke on October 17 and Randolph-Macon on October 22. The Hornets will then travel to Owings Mills, Maryland, to face Stevenson and Rutgers Camden.
In their final home match of the season, Lynchburg will host Eastern Mennonite on October 29. The season will conclude with two games on November 1 in Salisbury, Maryland, against Mary Washington and Salisbury, followed by a match against Hollins on the road on November 5.
