Navy Women’s Track and Field Team Competes at NCAA East Regional First Round
The Navy women’s track and field team concluded their season at the 2025 NCAA East Regional First Round, held at Jax Track on the University of North Florida campus in Jacksonville, Florida.
Performance Highlights
According to Navy’s director of track and field, Jamie Cook, the event presented valuable experience for the athletes facing some of the sport’s top competitors. “This was a good experience for everyone to come here and compete against some of the top competitors in the sport,” Cook stated. He noted that although freshman Zoie Tesi did not achieve the results she hoped for, her participation in the meet underscores her successful season.
Individual Results
- Olivia Lutkevich: Competed in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing in 38th place with a time of 10:36.76.
- Layne Rivera: Concluded her collegiate career in the javelin, achieving a throw of 36.49m (119′ 8″) and finishing in 48th place.
- Zoie Tesi: Participated in the high jump but did not record a height due to scratching.
This competition marks the end of a challenging yet enriching season for the Navy women’s track and field team, highlighting both its strengths and areas for growth as they look towards future competitions.
