Washington, D.C. (April 27, 2025) – The Kean University women’s tennis team concluded its season with a decisive 6-1 victory against Trinity University this past Sunday.
This win brought the Cougars’ overall season record to 11-4, matching the program’s single-season record for the most wins.
Throughout the match, Kean displayed strong performance, securing wins in both singles and doubles events. The team achieved victories in singles competitions from second through sixth positions and clinched a point in doubles with wins at both the second and third pairings.
Notably, Gigi Gutierrez excelled, capturing victories in straight sets at the fourth singles position and also winning at second doubles, partnered with Gulnora Kuchkorova. Their collaborative effort was instrumental in dominating their opponents.
Emily Lari and Delali Doe also showcased remarkable performances, each winning their respective fifth and sixth singles matches without conceding a game, finishing 6-0, 6-0. They also teamed up to claim victory at third doubles with the same scoreline, demonstrating a well-rounded team effort.
