Harvard Women’s Tennis Set for ITA Kickoff Weekend
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – This weekend, Harvard women’s tennis is gearing up to participate in the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Athens, GA, starting with a match against their long-time rivals, Princeton, on Saturday, January 25, at 11:00 a.m. ET.
Key Information
This marks Harvard’s first appearance at the ITA Kickoff Weekend since the 2014-15 season when they competed at Vanderbilt’s regional event. The regional lineup features Harvard, Princeton, UNC Charlotte, and the top-ranked team in the nation, Georgia.
On Sunday, January 26, the consolation and championship matches are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively.
Harvard embarked on its season last weekend, facing Baylor on January 19. As the Crimson take the court against Princeton for the 52nd time in series history, they are eager to secure their first win of the season and break an eight-match losing streak against the Tigers.
The 2024 season was a historic one for Harvard, with a remarkable record of 19-5, a third-place finish in the Ivy League, and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010. Notably, 19 wins is the highest total for the program under head coach Traci Green.
During the fall season, the Crimson achieved an impressive 27 singles victories alongside an outstanding 27-7 record in doubles. By the end of the fall, three Harvard doubles teams earned spots in the ITA doubles rankings: Stephanie Yakoff and Kavya Karra at No. 66, Karra paired with Rachel Arbitman at No. 75, and Angel You and Anna-Raphaëlle Serghi at No. 117.

Depending on the results from the opening round, Harvard will face either UNC Charlotte or No. 1 Georgia on the second day of the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The consolation and championship matches are set for 10:00 a.m. ET and 2:00 p.m. ET, respectively, in Athens, GA, on Sunday, January 26.
