CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Women’s Tennis team recently showcased their skills at the ITA Carolina Regionals, demonstrating competitive prowess over the weekend.
Head coach Jeff Maren reflected on the experience, noting, “The win over Clemson was a highlight for our weekend. We had the opportunity to play some very competitive matches which undoubtedly helped prepare us for the rest of the season. We had great fun together as a team so, we are already looking forward to our next trip!”

- Valeria Centeno defeated Gabriela Glickstein (UNC Wilmington) with a score of 7-6 (9-7), 6-1.
- Camila Molina Barranco (Charleston Southern) narrowly defeated Valeria Centeno, winning 6-1, 6-2.
- Avery Sager and Angelina Joy Hug triumphed over Ria Bhakta and Sophie Clayton from Clemson with a score of 8-3.
- Victoria Osuigwe (N.C. State) defeated Angelina Joy Hug 6-1, 6-1.
- Bryson Langford and Savanna Kollok (Davidson) won against Avery Sager and Angelina Joy Hug with a score of 8-0.
- Angelina Joy Hug secured a victory over Alexis Nyborg (Elon), winning 6-3, 1-6, 10-3.
Upcoming Competitions
The Bulldogs are set to return to the court for the Big South Conference Fall Championships, slated for October 24-26 at the Rock Hill Tennis Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
