University of Pennsylvania Women’s Tennis Team Competes in Tribe Invitational
PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania’s women’s tennis team kicked off its season at the Tribe Invitational, held over the weekend at William and Mary.
The event commenced on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and continued through Sunday afternoon, culminating at 1 p.m.
Throughout the two-day competition, the Quakers faced off against teams from William and Mary, Richmond, James Madison University, the University of South Florida, and East Carolina University.
Highlights from the tournament included impressive performances from freshmen Joleen Saw and Varsha Vedula. Both athletes achieved their first collegiate wins in singles and doubles. Saw notably recorded a 2-1 record across her singles and doubles matches.
The doubles team of Vedula and Sarah Wang also showcased their skills, finishing with a commendable 2-1 record in their events.
Additionally, Stojanovski was selected for the All-American prequalifying Singles draw, marking another achievement for the Penn team.
Looking ahead, the Quakers are set to continue their season at the University of Delaware (UD) Invite, which will take place from Friday through Sunday next week.
