LOUISVILLE, Ky. – This weekend, the Bellarmine University women’s tennis team is set to kick off its Atlantic Sun Conference campaign with an exciting match against Stetson in DeLand, FL. The contest will take place on Saturday, March 1, starting at 10 a.m. E.T. at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center. In their previous outing, the Knights (2-9) faced off against Murray State on Friday, February 21, where they experienced a tough 6-1 defeat. Freshman standout Reese Parker secured the sole point for Bellarmine.
Stetson is entering this matchup with a season record of 6-3. However, the Hatters have faced challenges recently, suffering losses in their last two matches against UCF and FAU, both by a score of 4-0. Prior to these defeats, Stetson had enjoyed a six-match winning streak.
Historically, Bellarmine and Stetson have clashed twice, with the Hatters currently leading the all-time series at 2-0. In their most recent encounter, Stetson emerged victorious with a 5-1 scoreline. This upcoming match will mark the first time the two teams compete in Florida.
