Gustavus Adolphus College Leads at Luther Invitational
DECORAH, Iowa – The women’s swimming and diving team from Gustavus Adolphus College showcased a strong performance on the opening day of the Luther Invitational, accumulating a total of 512 points to secure the top position among seven competing teams.
Current Standings
Following Gustavus in the standings are:
- Macalester College with 383 points
- Luther College at third with 299 points
Highlight Performances
Several standout athletes contributed to the team’s success:
- Annika Beck clinched victory in the 500 freestyle event with a time of 5:17.20.
- Leah Felton finished as the runner-up in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 53.56 seconds.
- Katelyn Siers dominated the 100 backstroke, finishing first with a time of 59.02 seconds, while also securing third place in the 100 IM in 1:03.09.
- Madison Witte took home second place in the 200 butterfly with a finish of 2:13.93 and placed fourth in the 200 IM at 2:14.48.
- Hadley Wartner finished third in the 200 breaststroke, recording a time of 2:30.03.
Relay Events
In relay competitions, the Gusties secured:
- Second place in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:38.43
- Third place in the 400 medley relay, finishing in 4:03.23
