Harvard Women’s Soccer Unveils Exciting Fall Schedule for 2025
As the 2025 season approaches, Harvard women’s soccer is poised for another thrilling year on the field, with a comprehensive fall schedule featuring nine home matches at Jordan Field. Following a successful campaign last year, where the team secured seven wins and reached the Ivy League Tournament, the Crimson are eager to compete for another title and an NCAA Tournament berth.
Preseason Preparations
Under the leadership of Chris Hamblin, the Branca Family Head Coach, the Harvard squad will commence training in early August. The team will start their preparation with two scrimmages scheduled for August 15 and August 19, the latter of which will take place at their home field and is open to public attendance.
Season Kickoff Details
The official season begins with a pair of away games against regional rivals: Massachusetts on August 24 and Fairfield on August 29. Harvard will face familiar competition, as the team has matched up with both opponents in the last three seasons.
Home Stand Highlights
Starting September 1, the Crimson will launch into a seven-match home stretch, covering September 1 to September 27, which will include five non-conference games prior to league play. Highlights of this homestand include:
- September 1: A Labor Day match against Kansas State
- September 4: Night game featuring Monmouth Hawks
- September 7: Rivalry match against Northeastern
- September 11: Encounter with Boston University
- September 14: Rematch against New Hampshire Wildcats, a continuation of the previous year’s NCAA Tournament
Ivy League Competition
The Ivy League schedule opens on September 20 with a contest against the Dartmouth Big Green, concluding the home stretch against last season’s champion, Princeton, on September 27.
Key Dates and Tournament Aspirations
After a pair of away games against Cornell on October 4 and Yale on October 11, the Crimson will finish their home season against Brown on October 18 and Penn on October 25. The regular season concludes on November 1 against the Columbia Lions in New York City.
Harvard aims to enter the Ivy League Tournament for the third consecutive year, where the semifinal will occur on November 7, followed by the championship match on November 9. The anticipated NCAA Tournament begins for qualifying teams on November 15 and continues through to the College Cup on December 5-8 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Returning Talent
The returning squad features notable players, including 2024 All-Ivy League selections Rhiannon Stewart, August Hunter, and Audrey Francois. Leading the team as captains are senior Vanessa Frelih and junior Anna Rayhill, who are committed to guiding the team towards further success this season.
