UT Tyler Women’s Soccer Secures Second Win of the Season Against East Central

Seminole, Okla. – The UT Tyler women’s soccer team achieved a second consecutive victory to commence the 2025 season by narrowly defeating East Central 1-0 on Saturday. A penalty kick early in the first half, converted by Ella Anderson, proved decisive, allowing the Patriots to return home following a successful road trip in Oklahoma.

Match Overview

The Patriots took control of the game’s pace from the outset, creating multiple scoring opportunities. The breakthrough came in the 23rd minute when Anderson was fouled inside the box, leading her to successfully convert the penalty kick. This goal marked her season’s first and ultimately secured the win for UT Tyler.

First Half Performance

In the first 45 minutes, UT Tyler showed offensive dominance, attempting seven shots and forcing significant saves from East Central’s goalkeeper. The team’s offensive unit worked cohesively, with Anderson and her teammates frequently threatening the opposing net. Defensively, the Patriots remained solid, allowing East Central only two shots on target before halftime, as they carried a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Defensive Resilience in the Second Half

As the second half unfolded, East Central ramped up its offensive efforts. However, the Patriots maintained composure on defense, effectively containing the opposition’s attacks. Goalkeepers Emily Clark and Robbi Curry showcased remarkable performances, combining for four saves—Clark contributed two saves before giving way to Curry, who added another two, ensuring a clean sheet for UT Tyler.
