The University of Indianapolis (UIndy) women’s soccer team is set to launch its 2025 campaign this Sunday, facing off against Ferris State at 1 p.m. This matchup marks a noteworthy rematch from the previous year.
Preseason Expectations
In the GLVC preseason coaches poll, the Greyhounds have been projected to finish sixth. Their previous season concluded with an overall record of 8-9-1 and a conference performance of 7-6-1.
Fresh Faces Joining the Roster
This season, UIndy welcomes a strong influx of talent, featuring seven incoming freshmen and three transfers. Notably, two of the transfers, Izzie Wallace from Xavier and Samaya Hogg from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), bring valuable NCAA Division I experience to the squad.
Coaching Staff Updates
The coaching staff has also seen changes for the 2025 season, with the introduction of new assistant coaches Brandon Butler and Sarah Doyle. Their expertise is expected to bolster the team’s strategy and performance this year.
Returning Talent
Alongside the new additions, the team will benefit from the experience of seven returning starters. Among them, Antiya Sidibe and Mia Winters stood out as the top goal and points scorers last season. Additionally, the defensive unit remains robust with the return of Nicole Shroeder, Rochelle Maxson, and Zy’Aire Parker, all of whom played over 1,400 minutes in the previous season.
