The Flying Dutch, with a current record of 2-2-1, came from behind after Illinois Tech initially took a 2-0 lead within the first 26 minutes of the game.
Key Moments
Senior Grace Fowler (Cumming, Georgia / Pinecrest Academy) ignited the comeback for Hope after Illinois Tech’s Tvesa Vathulya scored the second goal of the match, reducing the deficit with just under 19 minutes left in the first half. Fowler executed a remarkable shot from a tight angle that soared into the top left corner of the net.
Despite being outshot 16-6 during the match, Hope continued to press forward and equalized at 2-2 midway through the second half. Following a long shot from Fowler, a failed clearance allowed senior Claudia Folkert (Ada, Michigan / Forest Hills Central) to capitalize on a rebound, netting her third goal of the season.
