Recent Performance of No. 15 Snow College Women’s Soccer Team
The No. 15 ranked Snow College women’s soccer team experienced a mixed weekend, achieving a victory against Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) but suffering a narrow defeat to No. 5 Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). This brings the Badgers’ overall record to 7 wins, 2 losses, and 3 draws, with a strong conference standing of 5 wins, 1 loss, and 3 draws in the Scenic West Athletic Conference.
Match Against Colorado Northwestern Community College
In the match against CNCC held on Thursday, the Badgers made a striking performance by scoring four goals. The game commenced with an early lead when Madelyn Moss netted the first goal in the 8th minute, assisted by Mirabel Shellabarger. Bailee Ballard doubled the advantage just a few minutes later, scoring in the 15th minute.
As halftime approached, Maci Nell extended the lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 40th minute, aided by Kelsie Peterson. The Badgers continued to dominate in the second half, with Saige Meryhew scoring in the 52nd minute, pushing the score to 4-0.
Although CNCC managed to score twice in the 72nd and 77th minutes, it was not enough to close the gap. Snow College held a total of 13 shots, achieving 6 on goal, while the Spartans managed 6 shots, with only 3 on target. Both Ballard and Meryhew each contributed with 4 shots for the Badgers.
Close Contest Against Salt Lake Community College
The following match against SLCC on Saturday proved to be a tightly contested affair, ending in a 1-0 defeat for the Badgers. The Bruins secured their lead with a goal in the 23rd minute. Although Caliyah Wagner had a promising opportunity in the 30th minute, her shot was saved by the SLCC goalkeeper.
Snow College remained determined throughout the second half, creating several scoring opportunities, but to no avail. Moss recorded attempts at goal in both the 51st and 76th minutes, while Peterson also aimed for the net in the 88th minute; all of these efforts were thwarted by the Bruins’ defense. The Badgers concluded the match with 4 shots on goal compared to SLCC’s 5.

The Snow College women’s soccer team is set to return home for their next two matches at the Snow College Soccer Complex in Ephraim. They will face Pacific Northwest Christian College on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., followed by a game against North Idaho College on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
