Women’s Soccer Earns Third Draw in SWAC Competition

Upcoming Match for the Snow College Women’s Soccer Team

Game Recap: Snow College vs. Utah State University Eastern

The No. 14 Snow College women’s soccer team experienced a tightly contested match against Utah State University Eastern, resulting in a 1-1 draw in Price, Utah. This match marks the third draw in their Scenic West Athletic Conference performances this season.

Match Overview

Throughout the game, Snow College managed to take four shots, with only one on target, while USUE recorded a total of eight shots, four of which were aimed at the goal. The first half concluded without any goals, but the Eagles managed to score just before the halftime whistle.

Critical Moments

In the second half, the intensity increased significantly. An opportunity arose for Snow College in the 54th minute when Saige Meryhew nearly turned the tide with a shot that struck the post.

However, in the 74th minute, the Badgers equalized. A swift counterattack led to Madi Thurgood successfully scoring after the Eagles had just attempted a corner kick. Following this goal, goalkeeper Daisy Williams was called into action, delivering a vital save shortly thereafter. She concluded the match with a total of three saves.

Current Standings

With this draw, the Badgers’ overall record stands at 6-2-3, including a 4-1-3 performance within the Scenic West Athletic Conference.

Next Challenge for Snow College

The Badgers are set to play against Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) in Rangely, Colorado. The Spartans recently faced a defeat, losing 3-0 to North Idaho College, and are preparing for a subsequent match against No. 4 Salt Lake Community College before facing Snow College. CNCC holds an overall record of 5-5-0 and a conference mark of 3-4-0. In an earlier encounter this season, Snow College claimed victory over CNCC with a score of 4-0.

Looking Ahead

Following the match against CNCC, Snow College will face SLCC next Saturday. In their previous matchup with SLCC this season, the Badgers suffered a 4-1 loss.
