The tension broke in the 48th minute as redshirt junior Maya Maxwell scored the opener for the Panthers, assisted by Hanako Fujii. This goal set FIU ahead with a 1-0 lead.

However, Jacksonville responded quickly, finding the net in the 58th minute to equalize, and shortly thereafter, took the lead with another goal just two minutes later, pushing the score to 2-1 in favor of the Dolphins.

Late Equalizer

Despite the setback, FIU maintained pressure, and in a dramatic turn of events, graduate student Jayden Boelter scored in the 86th minute, leveling the match once more at 2-2. This was her first goal of the season.
