HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth College athletic program has celebrated two outstanding achievements this weekend, with both the women’s rugby and men’s lightweight rowing teams securing significant victories in their respective competitions. These performances have earned them the title of The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.
Unprecedented Success for Women’s Rugby
The Dartmouth women’s rugby team has showcased their prowess at the CRAA 7s National Championship held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, the team clinched six consecutive victories throughout the tournament. Their journey began with impressive wins over LIU, Penn State, and Davenport during the pool matches.
In the quarterfinals, the Big Green faced off against Princeton, triumphing with a decisive score of 34-5. They then defeated Army 19-5 to advance to the championship. The final match against Life was a thrilling showdown in which Dartmouth emerged victorious, dominating the Running Eagles with a final score of 31-0. This victory marks the first CRAA 7s National Championship title in the program’s history.
