Highlights from the NMU Women’s Nordic Ski Team
HANOVER, NH – The Northern Michigan University (NMU) women’s nordic ski team concluded the 2025 NCAA National Championships with the 20k mass start event. Both Wildcat athletes made significant contributions to the team’s overall score, with Henriette Nilssen and Victoria Dybwad finishing in 24th and 26th places, clocking in at 55:13.3 and 55:33.6, respectively.
Among competitors from the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA), Nilssen attained the highest placement, finishing in 24th. She was closely followed by Greta Hansen from Michigan Tech, who secured 25th place with a time of 55:26.6, and Dybwad took home third among conference participants. NMU garnered a total of 12 team points, landing them in 11th place, while Michigan Tech followed in 12th with 7 points.
A total of 40 athletes from 17 different institutions participated in today’s race, with Kendall Kramer of the University of Alaska leading the pack with an impressive time of 50:14.2. This victory adds a gold medal to her ninth-place finish earlier in the week. Erica Laven finished in second place at 50:49.6, complementing her earlier gold in the 7.5k event with a silver medal. Tilde Baangman from the University of Colorado claimed third place with a time of 51:01.8, improving from her 10th-place finish on Thursday.
In the overall team standings, Utah topped the scoreboard with 78 points, followed closely by Colorado with 72 and Montana State with 68 points.

The Wildcat women will take a short break before returning to action at the US Spring National Championships and SuperTour Finals in Lake Placid, New York, from March 26 to March 30, as they complete the 2024/25 season.
