In an intense matchup on May 1, 2025, the Farmingdale State College (FSC) women’s lacrosse team faced off against the United States Merchant Marine Academy, concluding the regular season with a close score of 12-10. Despite the loss, the Rams finished with an impressive 7-1 record in the Skyline Conference, securing the No. 2 seed going into the playoffs.

Early Advantage for Merchant Marine
The Mariners established an early lead, scoring five consecutive goals. Farmingdale managed to respond with a goal before the first quarter ended. They opened the second quarter with a goal from sophomore attack Carly Livingston, narrowing the gap to 5-2.
Turning Point in the Match
Merchant Marine retaliated with three unanswered goals, pushing their lead to 8-2. By halftime, FSC was down 8-3. However, they regrouped in the second half, with consecutive goals from Izzy Sheridan, Jules Loughran, and Emily Sohm, reducing the deficit to just two points at 8-6.
