University of North Alabama Women’s Golf Team Prepares for The Judson

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (October 26, 2025) – The University of North Alabama (UNA) women’s golf team is set to conclude its fall schedule at The Judson tournament, hosted by Southern Miss at the Hattiesburg Country Club. This marks the third consecutive season that UNA has participated in this event, which commences on Monday and spans three rounds through Tuesday.

Tournament Details

Event: The Judson
Location: Hattiesburg Country Club, Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Host: Southern Miss
Format: 36 holes on Monday, October 27, starting at 8:00 a.m. and 18 holes on Tuesday, October 28, also at 8:00 a.m.

Live Scoring

Team Composition

UNA will maintain the same lineup for this tournament after competing in two prior events this season. Sophomore Sirichaya Chanpen is leading the team, supported by true freshmen Lisa Palmgren and Kiersten Riggins. Redshirt junior Kerigan Klauber, coming off a personal best of 69, occupies the third position. Junior Ava Schwartz completes the lineup.

Field Overview

This year’s tournament features 11 competing teams, including four from the Atlantic Sun Conference: North Alabama, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, and West Georgia. In-state competitors include Alabama State and Samford, while the lineup also features Lamar, Tulane, Belmont, Division II Mississippi College, and host Southern Miss.

Schedule of Activities

The team will depart from campus on Saturday, allowing practice sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. The first round kicks off on Monday at 8:00 a.m., immediately followed by the second round later that day. The final round is scheduled for Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. This tournament will utilize a shotgun start, with specific starting holes to be determined.

Course Information

Hattiesburg Country Club, recognized as one of Mississippi’s premier golf venues, will host The Judson for the fourth consecutive year. This par-72 course spans 6,183 yards and underwent renovations in 1999 by Max Maxwell and Nathan Crace. The course has a notable history, having hosted U.S.G.A. qualifiers and significant championships, including the PGA Tour’s Magnolia Classic from 1968 to 1993.

Recent Performance

UNA’s last outing saw them secure a 12th-place finish at the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Arkansas, concluding with a score of 891—27-over-par. This performance marked their best score at this event over the last four seasons. Klauber led the team with a rank of 45th, achieving a remarkable three-under 69, tying for the third-lowest round in the program’s history.

Previous Year’s Outcome

Last year’s Judson tournament resulted in strong performances from the Lions, highlighted by Klauber’s first top-10 finish. Her final score of 220 (four-over-par) secured her a spot in 10th place. Additionally, Chanpen will revisit the course after carding a 10-over-par 226 last season, which ranked her second on the team.

Head-to-Head Comparisons

UNA is among six schools participating in both this year’s and last year’s Judson event. Last season, they finished second among these competitors, just behind Southern Miss, and achieved a stroke score of 900, 14 strokes better than Alabama State, and better than UAB and other returning teams.

Current Rankings

The initial NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Rankings released by Scoreboard Powered by Clipped place UNA at No. 197, ahead of ASUN rival Austin Peay. Among individual players, Chanpen currently holds the top position for UNA at No. 931.

UNA Golf Lineup

  • 1 – Sirichaya Chanpen – Sophomore – Bangkok, Thailand
  • 2 – Lisa Palmgren – Freshman – Gothenburg, Sweden
  • 3 – Kerigan Klauber – Redshirt Junior – Athens, Tenn.
  • 4 – Kiersten Riggins – Freshman – Trussville, Ala.
