Concordia Texas Women’s Golf Team Shines at Texas Legends Cup
In a commendable display of skill and teamwork, the Concordia Texas women’s golf team secured a sixth-place finish at the recent Texas Legends Cup held at the Legends Golf Course in Kingsland, Texas. The two-day event showcased the talent of the players, with standout performances contributing to the team’s success.
Individual Highlights
Leading the team was Reese Trujillo, who demonstrated impressive consistency throughout the tournament. She finished in a tie for fifth place overall, achieving her first collegiate sub-80 score with a remarkable 78 in the second round. On day one, Trujillo recorded a score of 81, putting her in a tie for seventh in the early standings. Notably, she accumulated a team-high of four birdies, showcasing her competitive edge.
Other team members also delivered strong performances. Remme Trujillo and Andrea Juarez contributed valuable scores of 165 and 167, respectively, placing 18th and 25th in the overall rankings. Paige Zehner matched her career-best performance on the final day with an 84, improving her score by a notable nine strokes.
Completing the team’s scoring was Silvia Alejandra Martinez-Ibarra, who finished with a total of 179 (91-88), securing the 40th spot on the leaderboard.
Upcoming Competitions
Following their performance at the Texas Legends Cup, the Concordia Texas women’s golf team will head to Westworth Village, Texas, to compete in the UD Crusader Cup scheduled for October 13-14. This upcoming tournament provides another opportunity for the team to build on their momentum and showcase their developing talent.
