UCLA Women’s Golf Team Leads After First Round of Pan Pacific University Golf Super League Tournament
MISHIMA, Japan – The UCLA women’s golf team, currently ranked 25th nationally, began the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League Tournament on a high note by establishing a five-stroke lead following an impressive first-round score of -8, 276 at Grand Fields Country Club.
Current Standings
Participating alongside 11 other teams from various countries, UCLA stands at the forefront of the competition. Closely trailing in third place is Hawai’i, which finished with an even par score of 284, while SMU occupies the eighth position at +10, 294.
Top Performers
Sophomore Maye Huang made a remarkable start to her season, carding a career-best score of -5, 66, resulting in a tie for third place among all participants. She trails only Aodhagan Brady from Maynooth University and Nagi Kuramochi from Nihon University by one stroke, leading all NCAA competitors.

New Faces
UCLA saw the debut of three newcomers: GaEun Athena Yoo, Kacey Ly, and Zoe Sprecher. Yoo, after a challenging start with four consecutive bogeys, rebounded sharply, finishing her last six holes at -5 and registering UCLA’s first eagle of the season on the par-4 16th hole.
Individual Performances
Sophomore Angela Liu, who led the team in scoring average last season, ended the day tied for 24th after a solid round of -1, 70. Jenny Lee, a sophomore transfer from Baylor, finished her inaugural round with a +2, 73. Despite encountering a setback with back-to-back triple bogeys on holes 12 and 13, Lee maintained a competitive edge for the remainder of her round.
