Ohio Dominican Panthers Begin NCAA East Regional
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Ohio Dominican University Panthers women’s golf team kicked off their participation in the NCAA East Regional on May 5, marking their third consecutive year at this prestigious event.
Opening Round Summary
Competing at the Meadows Golf Club at Grand Valley State, the Panthers shot a score of 321 in the first round, securing the 13th position out of 18 teams.
Individual Performances
- Caroline Tragesser: With a score of 78 (+6), Tragesser is currently tied for 23rd place. She showcased her skills with back-to-back birdies on the 5th and 6th holes, both of which are par 4.
- Maria Briceno Vargas: Vargas finished closely behind with a 79 (+7), placing her in a tie for 30th. She matched Tragesser’s mark by recording two birdies, including one on the par 4 6th hole and another on the par 5 14th hole.
- Marissa Cline & Sydney Devore: Both players scored 82 (+10) and are tied for 63rd. Cline achieved two birdies on the front nine, specifically on the par 5 1st hole and the par 3 3rd hole. Devore made her mark with a birdie on the par 4 10th hole when commencing her back nine.
- Ellyn Deibel: Deibel concluded the first round with an 84 (+12), placing her in a tie for 76th position.
