Navy Women’s Golf Team Set for Nittany Lion Invitational
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women’s golf team is gearing up to participate in the highly anticipated Nittany Lion Invitational, scheduled for this Sunday and Monday at Penn State University’s Blue Course in University Park, Pennsylvania. This event is part of a demanding sequence of three tournaments within a 15-day timeframe for the Midshipmen.
Tournament Details
The Nittany Lion Invitational will take place on Penn State’s par-72, 6,363-yard Blue Course. Competition is set to commence with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Sunday, featuring both the first and second rounds, followed by the final round on Monday at 8:30 a.m.

Previous Performance
The Navy women’s golf team recently wrapped up the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, where junior Emma Tang and senior captain Hallie Brisco delivered commendable performances. Tang secured a 33rd-place finish, while Brisco closely followed in 34th. Tang concluded the event with a score of 26-over par 236, and Brisco finished at 43-over par 253.
Navy’s History at the Nittany Lion Invitational
This marks Navy’s fifth appearance at the Nittany Lion Invitational, with past participations in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. The highlights of previous tournaments include:
- In 2018, Navy achieved program records for lowest team round and lowest individual score, with Morgan Frazier tying for seventh with a score of 2-over par 218.
- The 2019 event saw the Midshipmen finish sixth overall, led by Christine McDonnell’s 11th-place tie.
- Navy placed ninth in both 2022 and 2023, with notable individual performances from Stephanie Lee and Mara Hirtle.

After the Nittany Lion Invitational, the Midshipmen are set to host the Navy Fall Invitational, which will take place on October 4-5 at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Maryland.
