Gustavus Adolphus College Women’s Golf Team Competes at St. Kate’s Fall Invite
WOODBURY, Minn. – The women’s golf team from Gustavus Adolphus College recently participated in the St. Kate’s Fall Invite, where they secured a commendable fourth place among 12 competing teams. The Gusties concluded the two-round tournament with a total score of +40, while Carleton College claimed the top spot with a score of +25.
Head coach Scott Moe provided insights into the team’s performance: “We played fine today, but not quite good enough to hold our position or move up in the standings. We only had three birdies on the day as a team. We really struggled on and around the greens. From tee to green we were really good, but the rest of it needs to be cleaned up this week before we head out to our next event.”
Individual Performances
Leading the Gusties was Riley Zebroski, who finished in a tie for sixth place overall out of 73 participants, posting a score of +4 across both rounds. Close behind was Lauren Hubbart, who tied for ninth with a score of +8 for the weekend. Other notable finishes included:
- Emily Kolb: 21st place at +12
- Addison Longie: Tied for 33rd at +18
- Layla Mathews: Tied for 43rd at +22
Upcoming Events
The Gustavus women’s golf team is set to participate in the Williams Invitational, scheduled for September 27-28 in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Coach Moe shared details about their upcoming participation: “We have split squads this week as we send our top team to an awesome tournament out at Taconic Country Club hosted by Williams College with 24 really good teams. Our other squad is heading to a Division II field hosted by Southwest Minnesota State at Marshall. Congrats to Riley and Lauren for impressive top 10 finishes in a really good field this weekend.”
