WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Ole Miss women’s golf team, currently ranked No. 23, finds itself in a commanding position after two rounds at the Boilermaker Classic, leading the tournament with a cumulative score of 578 (+2). The Rebels maintain a narrow two-stroke advantage over second-place Indiana.
Freshman Matilda Björkman has emerged as a standout performer for Ole Miss, finishing the second round at two-under par, positioning her tied for second place individually. Björkman’s stellar performance began with an impressive five-under 67 in her opening round, where she quickly surged to the lead by scoring birdies on four of her first six holes. Filippa Sundquist also made her season debut with a solid round of one-under 71.
In the second round, Kajsalotta Svarvar delivered an outstanding performance for the team, carding a three-under 69 which placed her at even par and tied for sixth overall. Nicole Gal rebounded effectively after a challenging first round, managing to score two-under 70 in her second attempt.
Collectively, Ole Miss excelled in several categories, leading the field with 34 birdies and achieving a par 5 scoring average of 4.75 for the day. The team shot an even par during the first round, resting just one shot from the lead.
The final round is set to commence on Tuesday morning, with the shotgun start scheduled for 8 a.m. CT.
