WACO, Texas – The fall season concluded for the UNT women’s golf team with a commendable performance, as they secured a third-place finish at the Bear Brawl held at Ridgewood Country Club on Tuesday.
Notable Performances
Leading the way for the Mean Green was senior Mason Lewis, who delivered an impressive showing throughout the 36-hole one-day event. She achieved a score of 138, which translates to a two-under-par performance across both rounds. Notably, Lewis soared to third place on the individual leaderboard after posting a stellar 66 in her final round, marking her career-low score.
This placement also represents a personal best for Lewis, who finished six strokes ahead of the nation’s No. 15 ranked player.
Strong Team Support
Junior Bouquet Subsomboon contributed significantly to the team’s success with a seventh-place finish, concluding the tournament with a total score of 142 (+2). This marks her third career top-10 finish, underscoring her consistent performance throughout the season.
Season Wrap-Up
The Mean Green will be entering the offseason on a high note with this top-three finish. Their next competition will take place on January 18, where they will face Houston Christian in a dual match, followed by their participation in the Puerto Rico Classic in February.
