Final Round Overview: The Robbie at RTJ Golf Trail

In the final round of The Robbie tournament held at the RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove, the University of Evansville women’s golf team showcased its skills, with Kate Petrova and Elizabeth Mercier leading the charge. Both players finished tied for 17th place, contributing significantly to the team’s overall performance.

Player Highlights

  • Kate Petrova: Wrapped up the tournament with a three-round total of 224, shooting a 6-over par 78 in the concluding round.
  • Elizabeth Mercier: Matched Petrova’s score of 224, carding a 7-over par 79 in the final round.
  • Jane Grankina: Finished in 34th place after posting a score of 79, accumulating 232 for the tournament.
  • Trinity Dubbs: Shot a solid 78 on Sunday, finishing 43rd with a total score of 238.
  • Haley Hughes: Ended the tournament with a total score of 243, finishing 48th.
  • Adeline Wittmer: Concluded the event in 61st place with a final round score of 86.

The team ultimately placed 7th overall, totaling 53-over par for the tournament.

Tournament Champions

In a commendable display, the University of Georgia (UGA) clinched the tournament title with a score of 3-under par, demonstrating exceptional performance throughout the rounds. Lipscomb University followed closely, finishing nine strokes behind in second place. The individual medalist was Maria Garcia from UGA, who completed the weekend at an impressive 6-under 210, outpacing her teammate Karoline Tuttle by four strokes.

This tournament not only tested the skills of the participants but also emphasized the competitive spirit within college golf. As the season progresses, teams will continue to refine their skills in pursuit of success on the green.
