Upcoming Event: Augustana Interregional Invitational

The University of Chicago men’s cross country team is set to compete this Saturday in the Augustana Interregional Invitational, located in Rock Island. This meet serves as the final opportunity for the team to fine-tune their performance ahead of the UAA Championships.

Competition Details

  • Date: Saturday, October 18
  • Time: Gold Race at 11 AM / Blue Race at 12:30 PM
  • Venue: Saukie Golf Course

Highlights from the Women’s Cross Country Team

The University of Chicago women’s cross country team has seen remarkable success this season, achieving three first-place finishes at the following events:

  • The Lewis Early Bird Invite
  • The Gil Dodds Invitational
  • The Brissman-Lundeen Invitational

Currently, they are ranked first in the Midwest Region and seventh in NCAA Division III according to the USTFCCCA poll. Noteworthy performances have been delivered by Estelle Snider, Katja Dunayevich, and Nora Holmes, each securing top times in their early-season competitions. Both Snider and Dunayevich have earned recognition as UAA Athletes of the Week for their outstanding achievements.

In their most recent competition, several team members achieved personal best times:

  • 2nd: Nora Holmes – 23:08.4
  • 3rd: Olivia Resnick – 23:24.1
  • 5th: Elsa Krummel – 23:41.7 (Collegiate Best)
  • 6th: Logan Rettino – 23:46.0 (Collegiate Best)
  • 9th: Sophie Ginsberg – 23:57.2 (Collegiate Best)
  • 10th: Lauren Moskal – 23:59.0
  • 13th: Cyd Kennard – 24:11.1
  • 16th: Eleanor McNichols – 24:34.3 (Collegiate Best)
  • 34th: Alexa Avila – 25:51.3
  • 42nd: Shanta Ramdas – 26:15.7

Several top teams will join the Maroons at the invitational, including:

  • #20 UC Santa Cruz

  • #23 UW-Eau Claire

Looking Ahead

Following the Augustana Interregional Invitational, the Maroons will be headed to St. Louis for the UAA Championships at WashU, scheduled for Saturday, November 1. The team aims to continue its strong performance trajectory, having finished in the top-three at the NCAA DIII Championships in recent years and seeking its first national title in program history.
