UIndy Women’s Bowling Achieves Milestones at DII Thanksgiving Invite

The University of Indianapolis women’s bowling team showcased impressive performance at the DII Thanksgiving Invite, setting new program benchmarks in both team Baker match totals and individual traditional game scores.
Individual Recognitions
Sophia Meadows achieved the top individual ranking for the Greyhounds, finishing 9th overall. Cheyenne Beechboard, Taylor Stace, and Alyssa Cash also made notable contributions, each securing spots within the top 25 competitors. As a collective, the team concluded in 7th place among 11 participating teams.

“Really proud of the growth the team has shown through the first semester,” said head coach Cam Estes following the final match. “Can’t wait to watch the team continue to excel in the second semester.”
Event Breakdown
Day 1: Baker Matches
The tournament kicked off with Baker match play, where UIndy finished with a 2-4 record. They achieved a program-high score of 966 against Lewis, marking their first victory of the tournament, followed by a win against Barton with a score of 814-547.
Day 2: Traditional Match Play
On the second day, the team participated in traditional match play, securing victories over Walsh, Central Missouri, and Saint Anselm. Notably, UIndy broke their traditional game high score against Walsh by knocking down an impressive 1,017 pins.
Star Performers
Sophia Meadows led the team with an average score of 203.2, achieving a top score of 223. Beechboard delivered a 195.4 average, finishing 16th in the tournament. Taylor Stace amassed a total of 958 pins and recorded two games over the 200-mark, while Alyssa Cash shone with the highest single game total of 252 against Walsh.
Final Day: Baker Bracket Play
In the concluding day of the tournament, UIndy participated in Baker bracket play, finishing the day with a split record of 1-1. Although they faced a setback against Emmanuel, achieving a high score of 243 in game five, the team rebounded with a victory over Lewis in a best-of-seven match series.
