Coaching Staff Additions Announced for Southeast Missouri Women’s Basketball
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Head Coach Briley Palmer has revealed her coaching staff for the upcoming 2025-26 season, highlighting three new team members: Reginald Mosley, Kate Rolfes, and Jace Lance.
Reginald Mosley: From Coker to Southeast Missouri
Reginald “Reggie” Mosley joins Southeast Missouri after a successful tenure at Coker University, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the Cobras’ basketball program. During his three years at Coker, Mosley contributed to a remarkable 57% increase in wins, leading the team from ninth to second place in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) for team defense.
Under his guidance, the Cobras recorded impressive seasons—11-15 in 2022-23, 17-11 in 2023-24, and an outstanding 29-5 in 2024-25, achieving a 20-4 SAC record. This included a record-setting 14-game winning streak, and rankings as high as ninth in Division II basketball. Mosley’s development strategies for post players led to significant recognitions, including an SAC Freshman of the Year and a Player of the Year.
His coaching journey began at Indiana State University, where he assisted with recruiting and player development from 2018 to 2021. Mosley later took on a coaching role at Paris Junior College, where he improved the team’s winning percentage significantly and developed standout players.
Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, Coach Mosley is a father to two children, Avayah and Reginald Mosley III.
Kate Rolfes: A Rising Star in Coaching
Kate Rolfes is poised to begin her collegiate coaching career at Southeast Missouri following her recent playing stint at Missouri-St. Louis. Rolfes started all 28 games last season, averaging 10.5 points per game and demonstrating strong shooting skills with a 37.5% field goal percentage and a 34.6% from beyond the arc.
In the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), she ranked second in both three-pointers made and three-point shooting percentage. Rolfes initially played at Maryville University before transferring to Webster University, where she helped her team claim three consecutive SLIAC Conference Tournament titles and make three National Tournament appearances, culminating in an impressive 106-26 overall record.
A product of Incarnate Word Academy in St. Louis, Rolfes experienced great success, winning three state titles and contributing to the nation’s longest winning streak during her high school career. She is pursuing a master’s in education at Southeast Missouri.
Jace Lance: From Player to Graduate Assistant
Jace Lance joins the Redhawks coaching staff as a graduate assistant, marking the beginning of his coaching journey after a successful playing career at Missouri Valley College. Under the tutelage of his father, Chad Lance, he excelled, becoming the all-time assists leader and finishing sixth in scoring during his four seasons.
Throughout his collegiate career, Lance amassed numerous accolades, being recognized as a four-time all-conference selection and scholar athlete. Before this, he made his mark at Marshall High School in Missouri, where he set the school record for scoring with 1,836 points and led the team in football as well.
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with Cum Laude honors, Jace is now pursuing a master’s degree at Southeast and enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with his dog, Moose.
