NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In a commanding performance, the Belmont University women’s basketball team overpowered Lipscomb University, achieving an 80-60 victory in the 79th edition of the Battle of the Boulevard held at the Curb Event Center. With this win, Belmont extended their winning streak against Lipscomb to 16 games, improving their season record to 3-2.
First Half Dominance
The Bruins set the tone early in the game with an explosive first half, securing a remarkable 48 points. A decisive 19-2 scoring run, highlighted by a 17-0 streak during the second quarter, allowed Belmont to establish a commanding 30-point lead. They maintained control for nearly the entire game, only trailing for the first two minutes.

Belmont’s success was fueled by a significant run that culminated in a 24-2 lead following a 2-2 tie early in the match. Sophomore forward Hilary Fuller ignited the Bruins with nine points in the first quarter, which ended with Belmont leading 26-10. After shooting an impressive 63.2% (12-of-19) from the field in the first quarter, the Bruins continued their offensive push.
Second Quarter Surge
The second quarter saw Jailyn Banks initiate a scoring spree with free throws, and Sanaa Tripp amplified the Bruins’ advantage by hitting a three-pointer that brought the score to 44-15. Following a foul on Tripp, fellow guard Quinn Eubank added to the score with a free throw, marking Belmont’s largest lead of the evening at 45-15. With a halftime score of 48-20, the Bruins outpaced the Bisons 22-10 in the second quarter.
Second Half Performance
Although Belmont struggled to maintain their first-half intensity, Lipscomb outscored the Bruins 40-32 in the latter half, showcasing a shooting percentage of 65.2% (15-of-23) and a solid 55.6% from three-point range (5-of-9).
