Riverview Health Foundation Raises Funds at Annual Golf Tournament
On August 19, the Riverview Health Foundation hosted its annual Wine, Women and Whiffs Golf Tournament at Purgatory Golf Club, successfully raising over $25,000 to support initiatives aimed at enhancing care for breast cancer patients.
A Community Effort for Breast Cancer Care
This women-only, nine-hole golf tournament attracted over 100 participants and 10 volunteers, focusing on collective efforts to fund state-of-the-art medical equipment for Riverview Health. The funds raised will directly support the Foundation’s mission to improve health and quality of life in the community through charitable donations.
Quotes from Foundation Officials
“We love hosting this event to support projects and programs at Riverview Health focused on women and children,” said Megan Wiles, Vice President of Foundation and Community Affairs at Riverview Health. “While we’ll continue to direct some funds to The Milk Bank for donor milk, a portion of this year’s proceeds will support women going through breast cancer.”
Wiles announced that later this year, Riverview Health will welcome two new breast surgeons, and the Foundation is facilitating the acquisition of advanced technology to enhance patient care.
Community Engagement and Appreciation
“We are thankful for the women in healthcare, women-owned businesses, and community advocates who support this event each year,” remarked Polly Craig, Philanthropy Officer of Riverview Health Foundation. “It is a fun way to gather women and raise support and awareness of the needs for breast cancer patients. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s event.”
