The 2024 Wimbledon Championship: Prize Money and Tournament Details

This year’s Wimbledon Championship, set to take place from June 30th to July 13th, is not just a quest for glory on the iconic grass courts of the All England Club but also a chance to earn substantial financial rewards.

Record Prize Pool for 2024

The total prize pool for the Wimbledon tournament has reached an impressive £53,550,000, reflecting a 7% increase from the previous year. This significant boost emphasizes the tournament’s commitment to rewarding players across all stages of the competition. Notably, both male and female competitors receive equal prize money.

Prize Money Breakdown

The following is the distribution of prize money for various performance levels in the singles competitions:

  • Winner: £3,000,000
  • Finalist: £1,520,000
  • Semi-Finalist: £775,000
  • Quarter-Finalist: £400,000
  • Fourth Round: £240,000
  • Third Round: £152,000
  • Second Round: £99,000
  • First Round: £66,000

The financial incentives make early exits much easier to bear, as even those who exit in the first round will take home £66,000.

2023 Champions and Their Earnings

Last year, players Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejčíková each earned £2,700,000 for clinching the men’s and women’s singles titles, respectively. With the increased prize fund for 2024, champions this year have the potential to earn even more.
