Weekly NJAC Women’s Soccer Honors Announced
PITMAN — The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) has revealed its women’s soccer award recipients for the week concluding October 19. Here’s a look at the standout players recognized for their performances.
Offensive Player of the Week
Angela Oliveto • Rowan University
Sophomore Forward | Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown
Angela Oliveto has been named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after a remarkable two-match slate where she scored a total of four goals. Her scoring spree included two goals in a decisive 5-0 victory against Stockton and another pair during a thrilling 2-2 draw with Montclair State. Oliveto displayed exceptional accuracy, converting five of her six shots on target throughout the week. She currently ranks tied for fifth in goals scored in conference play, tallying four, and is also tied for sixth in total points with nine.
Defensive Player of the Week
Aubrey Gulbin • New Jersey City University
Sophomore Back | Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood
Aubrey Gulbin has received her first NJAC Defensive Player of the Week award. Her defensive prowess contributed significantly to NJCU’s successful week, which included a critical 1-0 shutout victory over Ramapo. In addition to her defensive efforts, Gulbin scored a goal in the 1-1 draw against Rutgers-Camden, showcasing her dual capability as a defender. She played a total of 134 minutes across these matches and has accumulated seven points this season, thanks to three goals and one assist.
Rookie of the Week
Stephanie Monroe • Kean University
Freshman Midfielder | Marlton, NJ/Cherokee
Stephanie Monroe earned her second NJAC Rookie of the Week honor this week for her outstanding contributions to Kean’s offensive play. She notched two assists over 180 minutes of play. Monroe played a pivotal role, assisting in a goal during a match against Rutgers-Newark, with an additional assist in a 1-1 tie with William Paterson. Currently, she leads the NJAC in overall assists with seven and ranks second in conference-only assists with four.
