Florida Pizza Delivery Worker Charged in Stabbing of Pregnant Woman

A disturbing incident unfolded in Florida when a pizza delivery driver allegedly attacked a pregnant woman, stabbing her 14 times following dissatisfaction with a $2 tip. This shocking event occurred a few days ago at a motel, where 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo was delivering an order for a family celebrating a birthday.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Alvelo returned to the motel with an unidentified accomplice and forcibly entered the victim’s room. The sheriff’s report details that Alvelo, armed with a knife, launched a brutal attack on the victim. The assailants reportedly stole items from the motel room during the assault.

At the time of the attack, the victim was with her boyfriend and their 5-year-old daughter, as reported by NBC News. Alvelo had delivered a pizza totaling $33 but was unable to provide change for a $50 bill. After the customer found smaller bills, they left a mere $2 tip, which Alvelo allegedly found unacceptable.

Approximately 90 minutes later, the delivery driver returned in a red Toyota alongside her masked accomplice, as captured by security cameras. Upon entering the room, the woman attempted to protect her child from the intruders, but in the struggle, she was struck in the back and her phone was smashed while trying to call for assistance.

During the assault, Alvelo brutally stabbed the woman multiple times, while her armed accomplice urged her to flee. The attackers escaped just before police arrived, and the victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

Amid her medical care, the victim discovered that she was pregnant. Following the incident, Alvelo was arrested the next day, but her accomplice remains unaccounted for. Alvelo has been charged with attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, assault, and kidnapping. She is currently held without bond in the Osceola County Jail.

In the aftermath of this tragic event, Marco’s Pizza, the establishment where Alvelo was employed, expressed its shock and condolences. The chain’s local owner emphasized their commitment to cooperating fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues, affirming that the safety and well-being of customers and employees is their utmost priority.
