UWG Women’s Golf Team Sets New School Record at Lady Red Wolves Classic
JONESBORO, Ark. — The University of West Georgia (UWG) women’s golf team continues to break records, achieving a remarkable milestone at the Lady Red Wolves Classic held at Sage Meadows Country Club. The team closed out the tournament with a final round score of 289, contributing to a school record 54-hole total of 867, securing a third-place finish.
Head Coach Commends Team Performance
Head coach Will Snodgrass expressed his pride in the team’s performance, noting, “The girls are in such impressive form and confidence is so high. It’s a good place to be. To see the plan executed to perfection was a joy.” He highlighted the importance of remaining calm through challenging holes and praised their strong finish, stating, “Our finishing nine holes were sensational. It’s another record set, and another feather in the cap for this team. The players deserve all the credit, and all the accolades.”
Individual Highlights
Three players from the Wolves finished in the top 25. Leading the way was Hannah Barrett, who recorded two birdies and concluded with a final round score of 72, earning a 16th-place finish. Teammates Sophie Dhaliwal and Emma Baier both tied for 25th, with Dhaliwal shooting a solid 72 and Baier making two birdies in her last three holes to finish with a 74.
Additionally, Erin Sullivan placed 30th after firing a final round score of 76. Meanwhile, Sofia Mondragon distinguished herself by posting the lowest score of the day for UWG with an impressive one-under 71, ultimately finishing in 56th place.
Team Performance Against Competitors
The Wolves finished behind UL Monroe and Memphis, with the Warhawks clinching the tournament title by a significant margin of 20 strokes. UWG fell just two strokes shy of Memphis and managed to tie with Morehead State for position. Notably, the Wolves outperformed ASUN rivals Austin Peay and North Alabama, along with future UAC competitor Little Rock.

The UWG women’s golf team will look to build on this success at their next tournament, scheduled for October 27-28 at The Judson, hosted by Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.
