ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington women’s tennis team, currently sporting a record of 0-1, is set to kick off their home season at the UTA Tennis Center on Friday, February 1. The Mavericks will face off against Cowley at 10 a.m. followed by a match against Dallas Baptist at 2 p.m.
After their recent season opener, where they faced a challenging loss to SMU with a score of 4-0 on January 30, the Mavericks are eager to make a comeback on their home turf.
Analyzing Cowley
Cowley comes into this matchup with a 1-0 start to their season, having claimed a 5-2 victory over Washburn University. In that contest, Cowley faced setbacks in all three doubles matches but showcased resilience by securing five out of six singles victories. This encounter marks the inaugural meeting between the two tennis programs.
Previewing DBU
Dallas Baptist will be launching its spring 2025 season with this match, and it will be the seventh time they take to the court against UTA. The Mavericks hold an impressive 6-0 advantage in this rivalry, with all matches having been contested at the UTA Tennis Center since their first clash back in February 2014.
