Upcoming Sports Events at UTA
The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is preparing for an exciting week of athletic competitions, featuring events across various sports. The women’s basketball team is set to begin its preseason, while women’s golf and tennis will complete their fall seasons.
Weekly Sports Schedule
Women’s Golf
The women’s golf team will participate in the Bear Brawl tournament on Tuesday, which is hosted by Baylor University. This marks the team’s final competition for the fall season and will take place at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas.
Women’s Basketball
On Tuesday at 5 p.m., the women’s basketball team will host the University of New Mexico in their home opener exhibition at the College Park Center. This event promises to set an energetic tone for the season ahead.
Men’s Tennis
Beginning Thursday, the men’s tennis team will head to Southern Methodist University to compete in the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge tournament. This four-day event follows the team’s participation in the Atlantic Sun Conference Individual Tournament, which concluded last Sunday in Jacksonville, Florida.
Women’s Tennis
The women’s tennis team will head to San Marcos, Texas, to compete in the States Up Slam tournament at Texas State University, starting Saturday. This two-day tournament will mark the conclusion of their fall season.
Volleyball
The volleyball squad is scheduled to compete against Tarleton State University at 6 p.m. on Thursday for Mavoween Night, also at the College Park Center. Fans can catch the action live on ESPN+. The team will then face Abilene Christian University on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Moody Coliseum in Abilene.
Cross-Country
UTA will host the Western Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday at the Harold Patterson Sports Center in Arlington. The event will feature the men’s 8K race kicking off at 9 a.m., followed by the women’s 6K at 10 a.m.
